How to upload your document

Getting your file in correctly at the start saves time on the call. Here is exactly what to upload and how.

Upload the document you need notarized as a clean, unsigned PDF. Do not sign it beforehand, because the notary needs to watch you sign on camera during the session.

Step by step

Save your document as a PDF

A PDF keeps your pages and layout intact. If you have a Word file, use "Save as PDF" or "Export to PDF." Avoid uploading a photo of the pages, since text and signature lines can end up blurry or cropped.

Include every page

Upload the full document, not just the signature page. The notary needs to see the complete document, including any notarial certificate or acknowledgment wording.

Leave it unsigned

Do not sign or date the document in advance unless your specific instructions say otherwise. You will sign live, on camera, during the session.

Start your request and upload

Sign in, begin your notarization, and choose your PDF when prompted. You can then mark where you will sign so the notary knows what to expect.

Check it looks right

Open the preview to confirm every page uploaded, the text is readable, and nothing is cut off. Replace the file if anything looks wrong.

Common issue: a document that is already signed, or a photo instead of a PDF. If your document is already signed, or you are unsure whether it needs specific notarial wording, contact us before you pay.
