The IRS does not charge a fee for an ITIN. BKS charges a service fee for the work of a Certifying Acceptance Agent.
BKS service fee
Your exact fee is shown at checkout, before you pay. It depends on how many people are on your application.
What the fee covers
- Document review, the required CAA interview, and return of your original documents
- Form W-7 and Form W-7-COA preparation
- Mailing the package to the IRS and tracking it
- Recording IRS notices and follow-up
What it does not cover
- The IRS decision. Paying the fee does not guarantee an ITIN.
- Tax return preparation, unless we agree to it separately in writing
- Shipping of your original documents to us and back to you
- Fees charged by other parties, such as certified copies from the agency that issued your documents
